This past weekend I went on a mother daughter trip to Chicago. It was such an amazing adventure, being able to explore a new place while spending quality time with people I love. While on this adventure I gained some self knowledge. “I need nature in my life.” Growing up in a smaller town full of fields and farms I have always wanted to live in a big city. It is the “you always want what you don’t have” thing. Moving to Minneapolis for college has fulfilled that longing to be in a big city, however, I still live close enough to my parents that I continue to enjoy the openness my hometown has to offer. While visiting Chicago, I realized just how much my small town means to me. The long drives with the windows down, the days spent at the lake, and the late night bonfires in the middle of nowhere. I would not trade my small-town upbringings for anything. I hope you all enjoy the special little moments your home has to offer.
